happy friday! this was the first full week of work in a while for me and it wasn't as bad as one would think, especially without the jetlag. looking forward to some beautiful weather this weekend and hosting some relatives and friends in town!
best: amazing dinner with yuki at the little beet table in gramercy. we usually hang out in larger groups, with the cmu friends or with the hubbies, so it was really nice to have dinner with yuki one-on-one. who knew we would have so much to talk about! and more than i realized in common as well. the food at little beet table was PHENOMENAL, although as yuki pointed out, there were definitely more females in the restaurant, likely due to its somewhat lighter menu with a focus on healthy, fresh, farm ingredients. we shared the mushroom flatbread, roasted chicken (one breast and one thigh), artichoke special, and sweet potatoes on the side. it was all super tasty, and our servers were really helpful and attentive. can't wait to come back with kevin and girlfriends!
worst: picked up my favorite falafel, hummus, and couscous salad from pret and realized when i returned to my desk that i had forgotten the shallot vinaigrette dressing! doh. luckily my teammate lent me her giant bottles of EVOO and basalmic vinaigrette.
smile: stumbled upon this art installation project by teresita fernandez "fata morgana" at madison square park on my way to dinner. its stunning! i love how the park has been transformed through the years from a sketchy derelict obstacle to its current gorgeous inviting communal area.
