lunges, burpees, planks

it was 20F out today, as it has been for many days now, so we ventured to the gym! after a mile warm-up and 800m of some fitness routines, kevin (my trainer, my husband, same guy) suggested we do a little light strengthening work: lunges, burpees, planks x 3.

i love strength training days! even back in hs, they are the "easy days", when compared to the actual long-run / speed-workout days. i got into combat mode and we busted out our strength exercises relatively quickly - piece of cake.

afterwards, i gawked at the cute little toddler girls in their bathing suits practicing gymnastics (omg are they not so so so adorable?) and had an easy lunch at chelsea piers' wichcraft. nothing beats a classic pbj on wheat and tomato soup on a cold cold day.
