as my busy season at work is finally winding down, my mood is improving and i'm starting to feel more relaxed in my personal time. it was 76F and sunny out today, but i welcomed the warmth as it's been what feels like a frigid 40F in my office. (hello? what a waste of energy) anyways it's been quite some time since i've hung out in the west village so tonight i snuck out of work just before 5:30 and enjoyed myself a little time shopping along bleecker and a nice walk passing the beautiful homes on charles street.
for dinner, daisy and i decided to meet up (yay it's been a while!) at jeffrey's grocery, which happens to be across the street from my old apartment on the corner of christopher and waverly. i found myself reminiscing about that apartment, the fun times and shenanigans of living with my sister, and how much we loved the neighborhood, despite living on the fourth floor of an apartment building just blocks away from bars and clubs.
the entire meal was PHENOMENAL, and our waitress was amazing, treating us to shrimp cocktail and extra dessert with a smile. for our starters, we shared the ceviche special (which came with spicy tortilla chips, yumm) and chilled corn soup; for our entree, the lobster spaghetti with spicy tomato sauce and old bay fries; and for our dessert, the rice pudding with fresh raspberries, raspberry honey, and sponge candy. every dish was tasty and not too rich, and the dessert was out of this world delicious ... definitely going to get me some more of that sponge candy!
we were totally stuffed, so we took our time and walked to chelsea (for me) and then to times square (for dais). a wonderful wednesday night :)
