fartleks

fartleks are a type of speed workout that combines interval training with continuous training. we did fartleks along the central park upper loop three times, totaling six uphills. the weather was warm (74F), but cooling down as the sun set and i ran with pace group 3, which gave me a decent workout. including the jog over to the park, we covered 7 miles during the workout!

great way to start off the week and get the mileage up before the brooklyn half in ten days! i ran this race at 1:47:21 in 2013 and 1:52:55 in 2014, without any training runs longer than 5-6 miles in advance, so it would be great to do a sub 1:45 this time.
