we woke up to a gorgeous morning, the sky was just starting to light up. the legs were heavy and sore, but we made it out for a 4 mile "recovery run". my gps wasn't working for the first 1/3 mile though, and the pace looks a little messed up in the first mile (we were going more like 8:30 i think). took me a few miles before my legs finally felt looser and warmed up, which is already when the run ended. ha.
met up my friend, yvonne, for welcome drinks and dinner at rosemary's, at the corner of greenwich ave and west 10th st! she is just back from a one week vacation in hawaii ~~ so lovely! the restaurant was quiet and flooded with light through its floor to ceiling windows when we arrived, but totally filled up by the time we were seated for dinner. the weather was really nice (60-70s), so we sat at a table by the open windows.
while the portions are on the smaller side, all the dishes were really nicely prepared! we shared everything ~ grilled calamari, which was pleasantly paired with celery and chickpeas for a very fresh flavor; a mustard greens salad with various types of mushrooms and a whipped ricotta mushroom vinaigrette; and an orecchiette with broccoli rabe and homemade sausage. the dishes were flavorful, but light - haha my favorite combination.
after dinner, we checked out the rooftop farm, which was planted just a few weeks ago. already there were leafy green celery, radishes, and lettuce greens sprouting out of the soil. it reminded me of a farm to yoga event a couple gf's and i checked out two summers ago ~ can't wait to check it out later this spring!
