i think we've found our latest go-to spot in the neighborhood on ninth ave: pastai! all their pasta is homemade, the variety of pasta dishes are extensive and delicious, and the service/ambience is quiet and low key. we walked in without a reservation at 6pm and were seated at a table for three immediately.
kevin had dined there the night before (yes, and he suggested it again for the next night) and eyed one of the specials: spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, pancetta, onions, and burrata. saied arrived a quarter after six, and we shared the pasta with braised short ribs and shrimp risotto, and three antipasti with a few glasses of wine. after doing some math, we realized that it had been more than four months since the last time we hung out! and we live just 10-15 blocks away ... which is ridiculous.
we heard from a friend that their brunch is quite good too, so will have to try that sometime!
